Skiing at home
Most of our ski guests are day trippers from the greater Munich area and locals from neighbouring districts.
The big advantage: Skifahrn dahoam is skiing without travelling far.
This saves time, money and energy, protects the environment and supports the regional economy. It enables sustainable winter sports with less stress and a stronger connection to local nature and culture.
Short journey

Short journey
in the entire MVV area
Over 80 % of the CO2 emissions of a day's skiing are caused by travelling to and from the resort. (Source: VDS).
Short journeys, especially by public transport or carpooling, cause less CO₂ than long car journeys to distant ski resorts.
Less traffic means less air pollution and less strain on the infrastructure.
All our resorts are located in the MVV catchment area and are easy to reach by public transport from Munich.
Less stress

Less stress
Enjoy the day
A short journey to the ski resort reduces the stress factor considerably. Long journeys can be tiring and nerve-wracking, especially if there is a lot of traffic or the road conditions are difficult.
A quick journey leaves more energy for the actual skiing experience, so the holiday can start in a more relaxed way right from the start. Less travelling also means that you can concentrate better on your leisure activities without being exhausted or stressed by the journey.
Low costs

Low costs
More Kaiserschmarrn instead
A short journey or a day trip incurs lower costs because less is spent on transport and accommodation. Shorter journeys mean less petrol consumption or lower costs for public transport, which reduces overall travel costs.
There is also no need to stay overnight, which also leads to considerable savings. This keeps the day trip cheaper and allows the budget to be used for local activities or other leisure pursuits.
Local ski resorts also offer more favourable prices than top ski resorts.
Sustainable tourism

Sustainable tourism
Strengthening the region
Visits to nearby ski resorts promote local catering, accommodation and other services. The ski resorts in turn benefit from regional visitors and can operate more sustainably without being dependent on international mass tourism.
Short breaks support jobs in the region and contribute to regional added value. They also promote a connection to one's own environment and the conscious use of local resources.
